Israel Burns Displaced People in Their Tents, Bombs Schools, Hospitals and Food Distribution Centers

The people of Gaza are facing a worsening mass displacement crisis as a result of the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza that has dragged on for over a year.

Displaced families sheltering in the Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah endured a night of bloodshed due to Israeli airstrikes on their tents. This strike led to a massive fire engulfing multiple tents. Videos documented the harrowing scenes in the immediate aftermath of the bombing, which activists have described as a "massacre."

Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas's political bureau, described the Israeli targeting of displaced people's tents in Deir al-Balah as a "new Nazi-like massacre, executed by the Zionist army with American weapons and backed by international inaction."

In a post on Telegram, al-Risheq wrote, "The occupying state is burning children, women, and the elderly in tents and shelters. Is there any crime more deserving of international action than this ongoing genocide, which has lasted a year?"

Furthermore, Israeli occupation forces have committed three devastating massacres in Gaza, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries among civilians.

Ten civilians were killed, and several displaced people, including children and women, were injured when Israeli artillery targeted citizens sheltering at a UNRWA food distribution centre in Jabalia camp.

This massacre raised the number of shelter and displacement centers bombed by the occupation to 191, housing hundreds of thousands of displaced people rendered homeless by the Israeli genocidal war.

Medical sources also reported five additional casualties and several injuries from an attack targeting civilians near the Abu Rashid water reservoir in Jabalia camp.

In a separate incident, two people were killed, and others were injured in a drone strike around the camp's police center.

Three more civilians were killed, and others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a group in the Safi area of Jabalia camp. Another citizen was killed, and several were injured in an Israeli strike on a house on Al-Huja Street in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza.

The Government Media Office in Gaza also reported that the Israeli occupation forces committed a new massacre by bombing the Al-Mufti School for displaced people in the Nuseirat camp, resulting in the killing of 22 people, including 15 children and a woman, along with 80 injuries.

The Israeli Occupation Forces have claimed, without evidence, that the deadly airstrikes targeted Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) fighters allegedly hiding among civilians in the area.

Since the onset of Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, the Israeli Occupation Forces have repeatedly used the same justification to defend strikes on densely populated shelters and tent camps.

According to the latest report from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza on Monday, the total death toll from the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza war has risen to at least 42,409, with 99,153 injured since October 7 of last year.
