Israel Expanding the War on a Regional Level

Amid continued Israeli genocide in Gaza, the Middle East is witnessing a significant escalation in the ongoing Israeli war, as Israel has expanded its military operations to include Yemen, Lebanon, and Iran, further intensifying fears of a full-scale regional conflict.

In July, Israel assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh with a rocket, fired into a government guest house in Tehran. As a result, The United States sent the aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" and a squadron of fighter jets and additional warships to the Middle East as the region braced for Iranian retaliation.

Amid escalating regional tensions, the Israeli military has conducted massive airstrikes on Yemen, a country that is located over 2,000km (1,240 miles) away, for the second time in over two months. This expansion into Yemen marks a dramatic escalation, bringing the conflict into one of the world’s most impoverished nations.

In Lebanon, Israel attacked many cities, including the capital, Beirut, leading to a million people in the streets. In addition to the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah by using  United States-made 900kg (2,000-pound) bombs. Joe Biden described his assassination  as "a measure of justice".  Israel will also continue to pound Lebanon.

Israel is likely to enter a potential confrontation with Iran as part of the ongoing escalation of aggression against Lebanon and the assassination of Hassan Nasrallah.

"Secretary Austin stressed that the United States is determined to prevent Iran and Iranian-backed partners and proxies from exploiting the situation or expanding the conflict," the statement reads.

To prevent Iran from expanding the conflict, the U.S. continues to deploy forces in the Middle East, potentially broadening the scope of the war.  This escalation will lead the United States into a disastrous regional war.

Even though Iran fired a lot of missiles at Israel in April, Israel responded by blowing up an air defence radar near the city of Isfahan in the middle of the country. This was seen as a warning that Israel could attack any Iranian nuclear sites it wanted. Moreover, Netanyahu warns Iran ‘there is nowhere in the Middle East Israel cannot reach’.

“The elimination of Nasrallah is a very important step, but it is not the final one”, Yoav Gallant said.

Iran is now being directly challenged by Israel. The brutal assassination of Hezbollah leader was the clearest example of Netanyahu putting down the gauntlet to Tehran.

There is no sign Netanyahu is going to call the war off, as he is ignoring all the international calls for a ceasefire. Indeed, all the signs referring to Israel and the United States will lead the world to another world war.

This next phase of the conflict will pose more intense challenges for all involved and present a significant risk to the region and beyond.

As Israel's war expands beyond Gaza, regional confrontation becomes more plausible. The stakes have never been higher, with Israel threatening further escalation. The international community must now work to prevent additional Israeli war and achieve peace in a region on the brink of disaster.
